The cost of this year’s floods across SE Queensland and northern New South Wales is $5.275 billion, making it Australia’s second costliest natural disaster ever. Insurers have received around 233,100 claims across both states.

Quote attributable to ICA CEO Andrew Hall:

The ICA and insurers encourage policyholders impacted by the flood and severe weather earlier this year to take the opportunity to make a booking and meet in-person with their insurer to discuss the specific details of their claims and receive updates on the claims process.
