On Tuesday, 25 November 2025 the Insurance Council of Australia declared an Insurance Catastrophe for the strong winds and damaging hail that impacted South East Queensland between Sunday 23 November to Monday 24 November.
On Friday, 28 November, the Insurance Council of Australia extended the dates and postcodes under the declaration to include all postcodes in both states from 20 November to 27 November 2025.
Insurers have established an on-the-ground presence in multiple impacted communities, including Bribie Island, Logan and Brisbane, with this support expanding to further parts of Moreton Bay from Monday.
