News release

Wednesday, 15 July 2026

Policyholders in Port Pirie impacted by the severe storms that hit the region in late November 2025 will have the opportunity to meet with their insurer later this month.

Hosted by the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA), the consultations will give local policyholders a dedicated opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives from multiple insurers about existing claims or lodging new ones.

ICA representatives will also be available to help policyholders understand the claims process, outline dispute resolution pathways, and provide practical insurance information.

Details of the consultations are below:

  • Date: Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 July 2026
  • Location: Royal Port Pirie Yacht Club - 61 Main Road, Solomontown, SA 5540
  • Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm

While walk-ins are welcome, registrations for the Insurance Hub are strongly recommended. Bookings can be made on the ICA website.

Quotes attributable to ICA Director of Mitigation and Extreme Weather Response, Liam Walter:

The storms that affected Port Pirie late last year caused significant disruption for many residents, and insurers continue to support customers as recovery progresses.

These consultations provide an important opportunity for policyholders to speak directly with their insurer about their claim and any questions they may have.

We encourage anyone impacted by the November storms to register for an appointment and make use of the support available.
