On 22 March 2021, the Insurance Council of Australia declared an Insurance Catastrophe for large parts of NSW following the devastating storms and flooding over several days. This catastrophe declaration was extended on 24 March 2021 to include parts of South East Queensland also impacted by severe weather events.
