Insurance Council announces 11 North Queensland community forums

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) is hosting a series of community insurance forums in November for communities between Cairns and Bundaberg.
The public meetings will provide an opportunity for both home owners and small businesses to share their insurance experiences and insights with industry representatives.
The 11 forums will cover many aspects of insuring homes, property and small businesses in North Queensland. They will address natural hazard exposure, insurance affordability, mitigation and underinsurance. Local government representatives and insurance brokers will attend each session.
Strata owners and householders are encouraged to attend to learn about the Queensland Government’s Strata Title Inspection Scheme and the Household Resilience Program.
The free community forums will cover;
  • How local mitigation measures can reduce insurance costs
  • Local issues driving insurance premiums
  • How to avoid underinsurance and claims difficulties
